Clinical Trial Data Sharing, Safely with SetFN

It was difficult to share Excel files even within the same institution

I'm a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC). When conducting investigator-initiated trials (IIT), I often need to exchange data with various research teams within the same hospital.

However, Excel files containing patient information are sensitive, so we couldn't use drive or cloud services. So it was cumbersome to transfer Excel files via USB or email within the team every time.

The problem became bigger in multi-center research

Despite being IIT, recently there have been many multi-center studies with multiple institutions participating. We tried to introduce EDC or eCRF systems, but the cost was burdensome, and we ended up organizing data in Excel files.

But sharing files with external institutional researchers was also difficult. The constant back-and-forth emails and file versions... we always had to check if files were the latest version, and sharing itself wasn't easy.

Thanks to SetFN, files stay on my computer and collaboration became easier

SetFN allowed us to use folders as they are, and we could selectively share necessary files not only with research teams within the same hospital but also with external institutional researchers.

Now we collaborate in real-time with SetFN folders instead of Excel

We upload Excel files to SetFN and use them there. There are no version conflicts, and modifications are automatically reflected, making it more efficient. We can also check who viewed which files, making management easier.

Now not only our hospital but also collaborating institutional researchers exchange data in the same folder. SetFN has become our 'lightweight and secure collaboration tool'.
